in this exact space slow. this is what he does. the article goes on to point out if the technology goes rogue, humanity doesn't stand a chance. it sounds like a problem. unlike the left, it's possible this could be overblown. but it's worth entertaining. let's look at what's going on with ai. let's start with national
9:04 pm
security first. imagine the chaos and damage that could be done if ai was used to create fake classified documents. these things could potentially trigger a world war if done the right way in a way where smarter intelligence understands how to get it done. has anyone thought any of this through? at least one person about the hijack and weaponization of ai. you might recognize this guy. >> some evil dictator could send their intelligence agency to go steal it and gain control. if you have got any incredibly powerful ai, you just don't know who is going to control that. dan: that sounds like kind of a problem. even if the technology was benign, the people who might
9:05 pm
steal it or use it probably are not. elon musk hopes people wake up to it. >> ai is more dangerous than say mismanaged aircraft design or production maintenance or bad car production in the sense that it has the potential -- it is non-you trivial -- it has the potential of civilizational destruction. dan: you have got one of the smartest guys in the world saying we better slow this down. let's get more local about it. what about the economy? experts say the rise in artificial intelligence could
9:06 pm
wipe out 100 million jobs. what about your healthcare. could ai become your doctor? the boston globe. denied by ai. how ai could create algorithms to cut off medical care for seniors in need. if you get anything from this monologue. understand this. the left can and will weaponnize artificial intelligence begins. that i can promise you based on their track record. chatgpt's language model created a fake episode of the joe rogan experience.
9:07 pm
it's a podcast. the results were absolutely mind blowing. here is the fake clip from joe rogan. >> i'm not the real joe rogan. i am not joe rogan and the guests are not of the people they portray. this is purely fiction just for fun. so don't make clippeds for tiktok making the world think i said things i never said. dan: are you going to know the difference? the real joe rogan respond on twitter saying this is going to get very slippery, kids. what if somebody wanted to use ai to defame you. write a horrible article about you. oh, that's already happening, too. john turley is on the network a lot. he says he was targeted by chatgpt. it made up allegations against
9:08 pm
him and fabricated a fake "washington post" article about the fabricated allegations. in case anyone tried to fact check it later and presents everything as fact. what is joe biden's plan? more regulations or something. >> last october we proposed a bill of rights, a bill of rights to insure the important protections are built into the ai systems from the start. social media showed us the harm powerful technologies can do without the right safeguards in place. dan: whose bill of rights? is china going to follow the bill of rights over here? the party that serves up misinformation about every crisis facing our country wants to put safeguards on artificial intelligence in i will pass on that. bloomberg announced ai will soon touch every financial decision
9:09 pm
and filtered through the left-leaning bias. i don't know what the future of ai looks like. nobody does. it's the future. but we better wake up fast to the threat it poses right now from political disinformation and god forbid much worse if this gets out of control, and even the people doing it are saying we don't know how to control it. joining me is physicist m.i.t. professor max tegmarc. what scares you have most about the rapid rise of artificial intelligence. >> all the things you mentioned scares me. there are two kinds of ai. there is narrow ai that can do all the bad stuff you mentioned and other useful tasks. and then there is agi, which i think as artificial god like intelligence. and that's defined as something
9:10 pm
that can do all the tasks to outsmart us humans. many companies are trying to build it. microsoft had a paper out saying they already see sparks of agi and the gpt4 model they have. because of this, we put together this open letter saying basically, whoa! let's slow down a bit, shall we? dan: i think the problem i have with this, i know the limits of my own knowledge. i'm very circumspect in this space. i don't know anything about artificial intelligence other than what i read on the internet. we have experts like yourself and thousands of others who are experts in the space saying i am not sure we even understand what's working. in that time piece i was referencing earlier, the guy said we can't even read some of the code here. if it got out of control it
9:11 pm
would be hard for us to find it. >> as an m.i.t. ai researcher i am the first to admit we have no clue how they do what they are doing. not only with whatever the first company is that built a god like ai to take over the economy and take over our democracy. but there is a likelihood before long, those unelected tech bros who think they won something will themselves lose control over this god like ai they built. they are saying let's slow down and not launch things until we can prove they are actually safe. and think harder whether this is a good idea to build god like ai. why don't we build what we can
9:12 pm
trust and understand that will work for us. dan: i get this question a lot from my audience on my radio show and podcast. they say there is no guarantee the chinese communist party will put a lid on their ai development and they can use it to attack us. how do you respond to that. >> we should move ahead with ai that we can control. but the chinese government likes control. and they are more terrified than our government about losing control to chinese companies. they cracked down pretty hard on chinese companies already and don't want them to do things they can lose control over. the same way we are not going to win over china if we first lose control of the tech company and they lose control of the technology. power comes from controlling things, not from losing control.
9:13 pm
dan: you put a little smile on my face. let's leave it on an optimistic note. max, thank you for your time, i appreciate it. up next on "unfiltered," the suspected pentagon leaker is accused of making classified material public. what is the media worried about? right to censorship. >> what took so long for the d.o.d. and the intelligence community to locate these documents? dan: i thought the media were about transparency and getting more information about what happened. pete hegseth once head a security clearance and he's here for back pain, i've always been a take two and call in the morning guy. but my new doctor recommended salonpas. without another pill upsetting my stomach, i get powerful, effective and safe relief. salonpas. it's good medicine. your best defense against erosion and cavities

9:18 pm
discord? >> are there other people who have access to information like this today? cannes the biden administration is landing to expand online surveillance. who would you thunk it. that's so weird. what's really going on. joining me, "fox and friends weekend" co-host pete hegseth. you and i both had security clearance. i get. if the story is as it is, you got the leaker, don't take the job if you can't keep a secret. but you and i both know the intel community and the media lied to us, benghazi, russian collusion, 51 intel officials with the laptop thing. i will hold my fire on this until i get all the facts. >> if someone is misusing
